Barney's Meet & Greet at Eastwood City Mall

I remember as a kid that I was in love with Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony and Care Bears while my little brother liked He-Man, Thundercats and Transformers.  You only get to be a kid once and my goal is for my kids to enjoy every minute of it.

I work in Eastwood city and everyday I would go past the big billboard with Barney on it and the schedule's of his appearance. Luckily he was scheduled on a weekend which is my rest day. My daughter is such a fan of the purple dinosaur with the bright green belly. I knew I just had to take her.

We all woke up early to make sure that we got to Eastwood City on time. OK, I could have been exaggerating with the preparation time even though we live like 15 minutes away but you know how it is with kids, your preparation is like 2 hours just to get out of the house, oh and including  running after your toddler just to get dressed.

Despite the getting ready to go out, we actually made it to the mall on time. As soon as we walked the show just about started. The kids were a little sleepy since it 1:30PM is their usual nap time, but as soon as Barney walked or jumped rather out on stage, I could see that my daughter was surprised and shocked. I love the part when he started singing that you could hear the parents rather than the kids singing along, including me (ahem).

The Stage

I felt a little heartbroken when my daughter kept waving to Barney and we didn't get to meet the requirement to do the actual meet and greet. Although I could say that I was pretty much disappointed in the arrangements since you had to purchase Maxivision products worth Php1,500 for the photo op. Yet the photo op was a little too rushed. As soon as the patrons got on stage the placed next to Barney hurriedly then one staff would count to 3, take a photo by their own photographers (you were not allowed to take photos of your own) then hurried off the stage. Leaving some kids a little restless, crying 'cause they didn't want to say Goodbye to Barney yet. I think they could have done a better job and maybe even give something a little extra to the patrons like a cd/dvd for the price that they paid.

After the photo op, Barney said bye and off we went with a happy heart. ♥

  1. Why Barney? You are a dinosaur. And big. And purple. Why a lot of kids like you while hubby hates you? Haha. Peace! :D

  4. I don't understand why event organizers offer photo op tapos minamadali naman. I used to work in a mall, and we would really allot LOTS of time for photo ops, specially with mascots. The last thing you want to have after all is a disappointed kid and an angry parent, diba? :)

    1. Korek! The photo op was just terrible. I was pretty satisfied enough with the free show rather than pay then be hurried.

  6. I have a confession to make. Before inis na inis ako kay Barney. Ewan ko ba kung bakit. Hahaha! Pero mula noong nagka-baby ako, pati ako na-inlove na din ata sa kanya. :D I wonder what would be Y's reaction when she sees Barney in person. :) Kawawa naman yung mga kids kung hindi rin nakasama si Barney ng matagal-tagal. And I hope makarating ito sa event organizers para hindi na maulit pa. Kalungkot pa naman kapag kids ang disappointed. :(
