Review| Pretty Looks: Placenta Advanced Anti-Aging Soap

This year I am hitting the big 4-0! I was never kind to my skin (gulp) so I am unfortunately on a rat race to find the perfect skincare for my aging skin.

It's amazing how fast time goes by as well as how fast I am gathering wrinkles haha.

So I take the opportunity to try out recommended beauty products just help me slow down the clock a tad bit. Absolutely perfect timing when I attended the Galactic Mission 7 & Summer Family Day, bloggers were surprised with a full 150g sized soap from Pretty Looks Aesthetic Center!

Pretty Looks Placenta Advanced Anti-aging Soap

We had a choice between the Pretty Looks Whitening - Radiance Soap and the Pretty Looks Placenta Advanced Anti-aging soap, I'm sure we don't need to guess what I chose. Teehee! I love Pink, so I chose it because of the box haha, but kidding aside I do like the matte finish of the box.

I used the soap the next day. According to the packaging you can use the soap for both the face and the body. I usually have those for my face and body separate but I was willing to give it a try. You need to massage the suds into your skin for 2 - 3 minutes to allow the active ingredients to penetrate, rinse and better use it twice a day. I am not exactly expecting a miracle but what I can say is that with one week of using this soap, I actually do like it.

ANTI-AGING SOAP rediscover youthful brighter and glowing skin with vegetable placenta which retains melanogenesis and activates your skin by accelerating growth of cells, collagen for wrinkles and elasticity to keep skin looking young.

So here's what I like:

Feel on the skin.
I love that squeaky clean feel after rinsing it off my face especially. I feel as though my face has been rid of all the dirt because I seriously feel refreshed. It does foam up a little bit however it is so easy to rinse off. Plus points!

Smell or Scent.
Fresh smelling. It's a smell in between of baby powder and fresh flowers, wish I could describe it better. I don't enjoy having strong smelling products on my face so I really appreciated the smell of this soap, didn't throw me off with the strong scent.

Active Ingredients.
Didn't scare me off with some complicated chemical names. Vegetable Placenta, Arbutin (bearberry plant extract), Collagen, Aloe Vera, Honey, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Glycerine (which I use for my setting spray) Citric Acid and Water. See? Pretty nice ingredients.

What could have been better:

I can't say I can distinguish anything so far. :)

  2. I'm so guilty with not pampering my skin. I'm not yet 40 but I know my skin have changed as I can already see the pores in my face. I think if I had to choose b/w the two soaps offered at the event? I will choose the anti aging soap... because it's pink! Lol!

  3. Uy it sounds interesting to try. I like the ingredients, you're right about that, they're not very intimidating. Maybe I 'll go check this out. The one I'm currently using leaves my face feeling sticky.

    1. I get that sticky feeling from some of the commercial facial washes I use. :( I love this soap so far.

  4. For once, I really thought one of the ingredients is from a real placenta when giving birth, lol! There's a new trend in the US where women dry their placenta or cook them and then eat them later so I thought this one's part of it! lol!

  5. Honestly, Marie, you don't look like you ate turning forty. It pays to take care of our own skin and live a life that will allow us to age gracefully :)

  8. I am turning 40 soon too and yes I feel I need to pamper my skin more now. I normally use liquid facial wash, moisturizer. But this product looks worth a try.

  9. I haven't tried using a soap with placenta. I'll check this out on my next grocery shopping. I'm past 40, so I need to be kinder to my skin. Lol! -- Maria Teresa Figuerres

  10. Taking care of our skin at a young age is always advisable but it's never too late to start caring now even if you've hit 40. As they say, life begins at 40! Kudos to you for taking a step towards having better skin. :)

  11. I tried using whitening soaps i.e. Kojic, Papaya etc. before in hopes of getting my complexion even just a bit whiter. I think it did pretty well in making my skin pantay but not white. So that's fine. BUT it really dried up my skin to the point of slightly itching. So I swore not to use whitening soaps again.

  12. I just realized that not all placenta soaps are made the same. Some placenta soaps focus on whitening, but most of the time, it's for anti-aging. I have areas that are prone to wrinkles due to sun damage and other environmental causes. I tried placenta soap before along with cream. I gotta say that I love the results.

  13. This looks worth trying :) I have to be honest, though. I'm not really into skincare products as of the moment, so I'm not sure what works for my skin :))
