I came across the post of Mommy Pehpot about her trip to the Books For Less Warehouse sale and I knew I needed to go. The books she had bought were at 10php each! Could this be true??? EACH??
I took the hubhub with my little 'twin' stars to Pasig like it was a hop scotch away, enduring the traffic jam and the heat.
When we finally got to the warehouse, I had the feeling of euphoria and how excited we all were. There were a lot of buyers and my daughter was just saying 'woooo' most of the time and I loved how she picked the books she wanted.
I was bothered though with the books that would fall on the floor yet nobody would even pick up, my daughter and I picked up a few, then in horror I saw a boy continously run over the books that had fell on the floor, back and forth.
It also was a little hot inside but of course it's a warehouse and there was a little dust. But if you are an ukay ukay person like myself that wouldn't bother you much.
It was hard to get around so bringing kids isn't ideal, so I had to basically rush looking around and grab whatever fitted my fancy. You do have to go through the pages of the books though since some are damaged, ripped or doodled on.
The hubhub and I were still very happy and satisifed with our finds, they were all for the kids by the way hehe and yes 10php each! So we only paid 100php for the books we got. I definitely want to go back!
Route I took (commute): From Cubao ride a jeep to Ever (Rosario), Get off at Rosario Pasig and take a jeep to Pasig Palengke and ask the driver to drop you off at Jollibee Mercedes. From there take a tryke to La Consolacion College, the warehouse is right opposite it.
For other directions and routes both commute and by driving, please check Mommy Pehpot's post.
If you do decide to go to the Books For Less Warehouse sale, here are some tips:
1. Bring a face mask if you are allergic to dust.
2. Bring a reusable or eco bag to put your purchased books in.
3. Try to go earlier in the morning, for sure most of the books would be in place and you'll fet first dibs on the book choices, plus it won't be that hot in the warehouse.
Oh my, book heaven! I wish they'd have a sale here in the South. For P10 any book would be a steal!!

DeleteI'm tempted to go back again. Few days left! :)
ReplyDeleteActually the hubhub and I were wanting to go back, but not enough time. :(
DeleteI love to go but Pasig is too far. Mas mahal pa gas at tolgate sa mabibili ko. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha. Where are you from Michi?
DeleteWhat a book haven for me! Too bad I cannot always convince my hubby to go to book sales like these because he doesn't like books so much.
ReplyDeleteAwww yun lang. My hubhub and I are bookworms and we both have the agreement that we would like our kids to be too.
DeleteInggit ako Mommy. Weekday work kasi ako and medyo malayo, hindi tuloy ako makapunta. Pero as I read this, kinukulit ko si hubby punta kami today before work. Great deal kaso noh?

Super great deal Pauline, we went on a Saturday since I also work during the week. :)
DeleteOh my, I'm so jealous! I've been reading posts about this sale for weeks now, and all I can do is head over to our local Book Sale haha. I would've also hoarded a lot had I lived near Books for Less!
ReplyDeleteI was lucky to have seen on Mommy Pehpot's blog. I was kinda bitin 'cause I had the kids with me. :(
DeleteI was there! Books ate my best friend. We got 5,000 books or more in our house
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot, I would love to see a post about your collection. :)
DeleteWow! I was wondering where in pasig it was! I want to buy books for my little one too. Daming books to choose from and ang dami ding tao. Hehehe. =)
ReplyDeleteSuper dami both books and people hehehe. Afternoon kami nakapunta but if it was earlier mas maganda.
DeleteUgh, August is almost done and I still haven't gone, waaaah! I don't know how we'll be able to go.I don't want to go with my 3 little boys, it will definitely be a disaster. Sayang, ganda pa naman ng tips mo. Would've applied them if I was getting the chance to go.
ReplyDeleteThanks May! kase I learned those when I got there. Uu di pwede kids mainit pati sa warehouse.
Deletewow...that's super sulit ah...Will try to get there this week-end..Rylee also love books..thanks for sharing Mamanee :-D
ReplyDeleteHope you were able to go Lally!
DeleteThese books are really cheap! Hope I could also buy some for my kids but it's far from where we live (Cavite). Can anyone from Cavite, who will go there, buy some for me? Hahaha! Kidding!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Shari meron naman siguro next year, idamay na kita next time hehe.
Deleteour haul was 23 books. such a steal, even you factor in our cab ride! sana later this year magkaroon ulit sila ng ganitong sale ano? :)
ReplyDeleteAy naku Rina, sana nga. Nabitin kase ako hehe
DeleteSadly, the bookstore similar to BFL here in Cebu just recently closed down. Perhaps it's an opportunity to bring BFL here - they offer a business opportunity pa naman! Hehe
ReplyDeleteAhhh cool! Uu nga. medyo malayo nga sya sa amin, mas matagal pa byahe namin kaysa sa tinagal sa sale. Hehehe
DeleteHi! I was planning to go earlier but unfortunately time didn't permit me to push thru. I've been planning to buy 10-peso books for my daughter's classmates as Christmas gifts. I guess I'll just have to settle for Booksale near my place. Lucky you for being able to visit and buy :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I do feel lucky but I was only able to buy like 6 books hehe.
DeleteTill August 31 one lang pala ito. I hope my husband and I can visit the place, yes, we will not bring our son. Hahahahaha or he might be THAT kid running around, though not stepping on books -for he loves books.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha. Uu my 3 year old also didn't step on them, buti na lang lol.
DeleteWow andaming books! Hahaha. Hoping that may mga ganyang deals pa kapag marunong na magread ang baby ko :)
ReplyDeleteI am hoping for another round nga. Kakabitin kase if you don't get to really dig in.
DeleteWould love to visit but we have to go back to Bacolod last week. May be I'll stick to Book Sale for now and make sure to visit the next one.
ReplyDeleteNaku me too Que! Babalik pa ako on the next warehouse sale.
DeleteBooks for less :) pwede for rj to read thanks for the tip
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. ;)
DeleteWoot! I still have time for this awesome sale!
ReplyDeleteHope you were able to go Alaine!
DeleteMukhang di na kami aabot diyan! Too far from us pero I have been wanting to go there. :(
ReplyDeleteSa amin man sis, malayo rin. Like more than 30 minutes ang byahe.
DeleteWow, I can just stay at a library forever! Too bad, I wasn't able to take advantage of the sale.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they will be a next one sis. :)
DeleteI'm a book lover through and through but I wasn't able to go to this. :( I would have loved to check it out especially since they were selling books at Php10/ pc. Vowing to go next year though!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Suggestion ko rin to bring a list of books you want para di ka ma overwhelm. :)
DeleteLast day today! We were not able to come back for another bookay-ukay adventure. Pero happy na kami sa mga nabili namin last time. Next year ulit!
ReplyDeleteNaku kami din. :( Hopefully next year makarami kami.
DeleteI read this too late. It would be heaven to have access to such an assortment of books for such a price.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry I am sure there will be a next warehouse sale. :)
DeleteI hope next time they will have something like this here in the South.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I think that would be a good point since there are so many book lovers from the south. Thanks for dropping by!
DeleteThis is indeed heaven to all the book lovers. I feel bad that I didn't heard of this sale.
ReplyDeleteToo bad that I missed this too. I would have enjoyed it too! :)
