My Monday to Friday work consists of having to commute each day, trying to get a ride with the rush in the evening plus the trucks along the highway on their way to C5. I battle smoke AND dust every time I commute urrggh.
As a Trainer, my work is not limited to training new hires communication skills and product specifics. Without a class, there are deadlines to meet in terms of reviewing campaign updates, creating modules for upskill trainings, the need to meet our 8 hour a month phone time requirement (yes, I still take calls and support customers) and the never-ending meetings.
All these, need me to be at my 100% and falling sick is not an option - to make sure I meet these deadlines and make my worklife easier by staying alert and healthy, here are my 5 practices and tips that I would like to share with you:
1. Commuting exposes you to pollutants, allergens and fellow commuters who could be sick. To avoid catching a cold, I wear a mask to cover my mouth and nose.
2. I eat in small amounts several times a day, rather one hearty meal during my lunch. This helps me avoid getting sleepy during my shift.
3. Catching sleep is super important for people like myself who works in the grave yard shift. I do my best to follow a bed time ritual so I can fall asleep faster.
4. Ditch the coffee and replace it with Lemon water instead. This makes a natural and healthy energy booster, a lemon is always on my grocery list.
5. Take your vitamins. No better way to protect your hardworking body than by supplementing it with Fern-C, my personal Vitamin C choice! Subok na!
You may ask why I choose Fern-C? Several reasons but top of my list is because unlike Ascorbic Acid Fern-C is a non-acidic Vitamin C which will not upset my stomach (I am hyper-acidic) and it's a super anti-oxidant which will boost your immune system against your daily commute worries protecting you from pollutants.
Did you know that Fern-C can also safeguard your heart and entire cardiovascular system from bad cholesterol deposits - just in case you are munching on fast food for lunch mostly, hehe.
The best part is that when you take Fern-C this can help you battle mental stress and other stress related disorders to help make your worklife easier.
With Fern-C as my daily supplement, I get my job done and my deadlines are met! Worklife ay Easy with Fern-C!

Great tips you've got there. I like the substitute for coffee. =)
ReplyDeleteSuper better thank caffeine! :) Thanks!
DeleteVitamin C and lots of sleep are very important to me. Masungit ako pag wala tulog, hehehe!
ReplyDeleteHahaha ako rin sis! :)
DeleteFern-C!!! I used to take this and yeah, I loved the fact that my stomach doesn't feel funny afterwards.
ReplyDeleteAlso the reason why I choose this over other Vitamin C supplements. :)
DeleteI agree with you in avoiding coffee. Since sleep is precious, drinking coffee could simply sabotage your sleep routine and confuse your body clock.
ReplyDeleteTrue! Sleep is so important. :)
DeleteLove your ideas! I also do this every day - all of us have individual cloth masks at home - except drinking lemon water. I need to add lemons to my grocery list!
ReplyDeleteIt will surely work wonders for you sis. :)
DeleteThank you for your tips! Everyone working mom needs above tips...
ReplyDeleteWelcome! Hope they will be useful for you too. :)

ReplyDeleteI feel you sis haha. Uu we need to protect ourselves this season. :)
DeleteThanks for sharing, I will try lemon with water instead of coffee, I am a caffeine addict kasi
ReplyDeleteI also find it hard na iwasan ang coffee, so you can always just substitute once in a while.
DeleteGreat tips! I don't think I can give up coffee though. Having worked in the coffee industry for years, coffee has become a must for me every day. Haha! But I've recently also tried drinking more lemon water. Very refreshing!
ReplyDeleteHehehe I seriously know how you feel. You can always have lemon water in the morning when you wake up before meals.
DeleteLove the tips with accompanying photos. And this makes me what to check fern c as well. Most of my officemates (when i still work) would take fern c.
ReplyDeleteGo sis! Lots of benefits for moms like us. :)
DeleteThank you for all these tips. I work from home but these are very helpful for me too - a good reminder to take care of ourselves!

ReplyDeleteHehe thanks sis. Naku, tama ka dyan and I find it an inexpensive way to detox. :)
DeleteWhat an interesting post! I didn't know that eating big meals makes one sleepy, I should really lessen what I eat and eat more frequently! Also I didn't know that lemon drinks are energy boosters. I"ve been looking for a substitute for my coffee. I'm going to get a lemon drink right now, in fact. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks also sis for appreciating :)
DeleteGreat advise! With the busy times, it's easy to neglect ourselves. It's nice to know you can do simple things to combat stress. ☺
ReplyDeleteTrue and when you are working talagang kabit ang stress.
DeleteI just finished watching Prenup of Jenilyn Mercado, and she said that "lalake or tulog? tulog na lang nakakaganda pa. Totally agree.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! And remember the JLo secret of 12 hours of sleep a day works wonders. :)
DeleteThose are such nice tips! There's only one problem... I can't ditch the coffee!! wwaaahhh.
ReplyDeleteDitching coffee is really hard but you can always drink lemon water anytime. :)
DeleteTake care always! Do you work nights?
ReplyDeleteThanks Eens! Yes I do.
DeleteThese are all great tips :) I try my best to get enough sleep but being yaya-less, I'm limited to 5-6 hours. It's so hard. Dinandaan ko na lang sa vitamins :))
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel sis. :) Also yaya-less for 3 years na.
DeleteI also try to drink lemon water if I can chance upon lemons in the grocery. But sometimes, lemons don't come cheap. I'm guilty of drinking too much coffee.
ReplyDeleteSige na nga! I'll avoid coffee na! Part of being healthy! Thanks Mamanee sa tips!
